Chang`s Mongolian Grill in Portland

The food was and always is great, but the service lacked a little. I asked for a soup but never got one. I think they were really busy so I didn't bother.

If i could give no stars i would. This place was very unkept food every where the service was terrible and the staff was very rude. This was our first and last visit to this place.

The food is amazing, stir fry at it's finest! You choose the ingredients and spices and everything else and watch them cook it in front of you! This is why Chang's has some of the best food on the planet!

Chang's is an institution, Mongolian grill style buffet that's been around the Portland area for as long as I have been alive. This location I believe is family owned and I have seen the same people working there for years. It's generally well kept up, the service is friendly and prompt, and the ingredients are kept fresh and topped off.If you're unfamiliar with how it works, you have bowls that you put raw meat and veggies in, spice with different sauces, and then the chefs take your concoction and grill it up. They service white rice and rice wraps with the food and all meals come with a choice of sweet and sour or egg flower soup before and vanilla soft serve with a choice of syrups after the meal.

Horrible service. Horrible management. Went here for our nephews birthday, who is 11, who loves Changs. Made sure to let them know it was his birthday. Had to ask for water refills several times, which never got refilled. Never offered soups. They never offered him ice cream after our meal. We were treated as if we were bothering them. A party of 10 & spent over 150 bucks and when we went to go pay they said we had to have a birth certificate or an idea for our 11 year old nephew. What a joke. Make sure to bring your child's birth certificate next time for birthday dinners is what we were told. Several people in our group had never even been here & said they will never return.

The Gateway location had lots of room both to dine and to park. There are more options at dinner then lunch, usually seafood. I would not recommend this for someone who has serious food allergies as the food is all cooked on the same grill.

One of our favorite places to eat. We moved to Idaho a few years back, but have to come back to eat at Chang's at least once a year. There's a few Mongolian places near us now, but none come close to being as good as Chang's!

Ingredients were fresh my first serving was good but the cook must have been angry he burnt my second and last to a crisp. I don't see what was so hard all he had to do was turn the food.

This place is amazing. I will always recommend it to friends and family. The service has always been great, and the food just as good. I wish there was one closer to where I live, but it is worth the 3 hour drive to get here.

Great place full of variety. Meats and veggies and shrimp (dinner) soup rice and ice cream is great and full of taste

Decent Mongolian dining experience with a fair number of meat and vegetable options and easy to follow instructions for which sauces and oils to add. The line can get a little sluggish but that's understandable considering it takes some time to grill the dishes. Their hot and sour soup isn't anything to write home about but their soft serve ice cream is all right.

Chang's always delivers! Staff is great would be 5 stars if they had a better selection of things and updated a bit.

One of my very favorite places to eat. Lunch is cheaper than dinner. BUT it's all you can eat. So you can't take leftovers🥡 home. But you can go back through the line as many times as you want. The food is fresh and you pick whatever meats and veggies 🥦🥕you want and noodles 🥢then take it up to the grill and give it to the guys cooking. It's cooked right 👀in front of you and then they hand you your plate of cooked 💣 bomb food 🍜 the rice 🍚 and wraps are really good with the food. Drinks are kinda expensive, I thought. But if it's your birthday 🎀show them your ID and it's FREE 💸

I really enjoy watching the grill masters. It's an art that isn't actually seen very often to everyone.

Love the food until a couple hours later I realized I got food poisoning.

Food is good, service is ok. Often I feel judged when being here, and often service is lacking, requests are made several times before they listen to you.

I been to Changs Mongolian Grill it was taste good you can take everything you want thats all you can eat.

Happy to have guest come in and order take out. Above and beyond trying to make it a great experience. Love this place.

Always a winner for a great family meal time. Make your own plate, flavor to taste, and the grill it for you. What's not to love? P.S. Make sure you get the pancakes and the plum sauce. Game on.

We have been at this restaurant many times, but today the staff were really rude. We had a larger group and asked to be seated separate but still close by each other. And they refused to seat us near each other. They seated us at opposite sides of the restaurant even thou there were open tables near by. We asked to talk to the manager and he agreed to seat us close by each other. But the service was horrible. While eating the manager asked us to pay for our food (usually everyone pays at the register before they leave).We got no drink refills. We waited for our waiter and waited and waited. We had to get up with empty cups and ask the waiter for a refill. We also waited for complimentary ice cream but were not offered any(usually they ask if you are ready for ice cream). I would suggest to avoid this location. Really rude staff and management.

Private parking lot in a strip mall.This place is unlimited Mongolian BBQ. You go through a buffet line with three sections. The first section is frozen, thin protein like chicken, lamb, beef, fish, and tofu. The second section is veggies and noodles. The third and final section is all sauces. Once you fill a bowl or two with ingredients, you wait in line to have the cooks prepare your food. This takes about 5-10 minutes.They have different flavored lemonades. I got to try mango and strawberry.They have mushi pancakes. These are thin wraps that can be used to make dumplings. You have to ask the waitress for these.Staff is pleasant. May return if I am in the area.

The cooks were not on the ball today. Too many things getting burnt today. Otherwise I'm usually happier here.

Made my flavor profile perfect! Hot and delicious. One of the things I love most about Chang's is the control of the flavor you want!

Lady with the glasses at the front counter is extremely rude and disrespectful, so is half of the cooks on staff. If they don't like you they will either burn your food, give you partial service, or just be flat out rude. They do not value their customers, and I refuse to support a business as such.

I love coming here with friends. The food is made to your taste. I love the lamb option!!! I'm not crazy about the soup and fried rice. The buffet and grill is good enough. The rice wraps are excellent to make like your eating wraps! Delicious.

Got through the line quickly, and the food was fantastic! Soup was a little meh,but you cant have everything you want ;) gave us soft serve after the meal and it was soooooo good after all those carby noodles.

It's all you can eat, an you make it yourself,can't go wrong.
